Ave Maria
Ave Maria
There’s a woman I know
Comes to me when I pray
She stands by my side
Helps me find The Way
A vision of ultimate grace
In faithfulness none can compare
She is hope for a sinner like me
She’s my partner in prayer
Ave, Ave Maria
Holy Mary, Mother of God
Ave, Ave Maria
Pray for us, Mary
Pray for us now
I get lost in my prayers
Earthly longings keep pulling me far from my goal
But I don’t despair
Mother Mary comes to me and helps take control
She takes all my fragmented prayers
And bundles them gently in love
She wraps them up and presents them to God
At the foot of his throne
Ave, Ave Maria ...
By your “yes” you transformed the whole world
Evil’s crushed, new life’s begun
Mystical Rose, may your fragrance flow over me
Lead me to your Son
Ave, Ave Maria ...
Several years ago, I invited anyone who was willing, to join me in the courtyard at church to pray the Rosary. Ever since then, a group will convene at 9:45 PM each Wednesday to pray the Rosary.
We are there when the temperature gets into the 90s in summer, and when they dip to below freezing in the winter. It is a highlight of the week for many of us.
We offer prayers for our parish community, for the ACTS community around the world, and for any special intentions that may be brought to the group.
I have had the privilege of gathering with small groups over the years to pray the Rosary. When we share our stories each other it makes that time of prayer even more special to me.
I began writing my version of the Ave Maria several years ago. The words just wouldn’t come to me, so I persisted in prayer. One day, the Holy Spirit delivered these words to me. They speak of our human struggles with prayer and the wonderful gift our Blessed Mother gave us when she said “yes” to the Lord.
This is one of the songs I am most excited to record. Carrie Bajzath sings this song beautifully. She takes the words that God gave me and brings them to life!
So, don’t worry if your prayers don’t seem to get you where you think you should be going. Know that our Mother Mary will take those fragmented prayers and personally deliver them to her Son!
